SDCC Goodness – Three pages of awesomeness from Vivek :) Posted on July 21, 2009 by mohaps Here is a three page preview (Strong language and swearing, so not suitable for minors) (click for higer res pages)
Really, really good looking work. Hope you got a good response at SDCC. Hard to see it not getting snapped up.
Looks too much like Sin City. Needs originality. The art is fabulous. No issue there – but lack of originality is going to kill it.
The art’s good but the narrative could use some work. Feels a little overdone. Go easy on the metaphors… please… they’re terrible.
@Anirban — i think they are similies and they’re fine for the genre, in fact i really like the one about the alley and dogshit Anyways nice to see some hard boiled crime fiction set in Aamchi Mumbai. Rock on!
@Ash – You’re right. They’re similies. Still terrible, unless the intention is to shift from ‘hard boiled crime fiction’ to camp humor.
I really like the kind of Sin City / Film Noir meets Bollywood vibe in this. Keep up the good word and will this be available in India?
Thanks Sirish, for your good words… and yeah we’re working with an indian publisher, so this’ll definitely be available in India
